We have no greater desire than for you to enjoy and benefit from your purchase of your LED lighting products from the Clear Sky LEDs eCommerce storefront. If you are not happy for whatever reason, the following returns policy is applicable to ALL purchases from www.clearskyleds.co.za.
Cancelling your Order / Returning Goods
At Clear Sky LEDs, we provide a seven (7) day period from the date you received your order where you can return your purchase to us should you not be 100% happy with your goods received. We charge a 20% restocking fee as we'll need to test the products to ensure that they are 100% new and all costs associated with returning the goods to us via courier are for the customer's account. You will need to return your purchase in the original packaging and as new otherwise, Clear Sky LEDs will not provide the requested refund. *Any return requests applied for after this 7 day period will not be valid.
Return of Faulty Goods for Repair / Replacement
Because of the high quality and workmanship inherent in all LED Lighting products supplied, some returns (which are few and far between) end up being non-defective products due to either misapplication or use of the purchased item. Please note that should a product be returned as faulty and upon testing found to be fault free, the product will be returned to the Client COD and a test fee may be charged at the sole discretion of the Supplier.
Clear Sky LEDs warrants to all end users that our range of LED products will operate substantially in accordance with the product’s specifications details on the Clear Sky LEDs website, as printed on the packaging material or operating instructions, during normal use.
All retail sales from the Clear Sky LEDs website are final at time of dispatch (except under order cancellation or special arrangement). Products may be returned for repair or replacement to Clear Sky LEDs within the product's assigned warranty period - see the warranty period within the specifications of your desired lighting product. If damage was caused by anyone or anything other than part failure or damage in transit, repair cost will be quoted and billed to you and must be paid in full before work begins. Expressly excluded from this agreement are batteries or any other peripherals.
On-site Repair, Carry in Repair or Return Shipping
The warranty provided is a “Carry-In Warranty”. If you experience a failure, Clear Sky LEDs will organise to have couriers collect the defective lamp(s) immediately. We will evaluate the failure, and if the defect is due to a factory fault, we will replace the faulty lamp(s). All labour to remove and re install units is NOT covered under our warranty.
Clear Sky LEDs will also be responsible for the payment of shipping costs of the return lamp(s) back to the client should the product(s) be found to be faulty after inspection / testing. Should the warranty service require the replacement of a component part, these items will become the property of Clear Sky LEDs. The replacement component part will be new, or equivalent to new once repaired, meeting quality standards. The warranty remaining on the original unit is assumed on the replacement unit or replacement parts.
We have spares available consistently, and once the evaluation has taken place, and is to be found that it is a unit covered under the warranty terms, a replacement unit will be sent back immediately.
If the product is returned during the limited warranty period, but the problem with the product is not covered under the terms and conditions of this limited warranty due to warranty breach, you will be notified by Clear Sky LEDs and given an estimate of the repair or replacement cost, plus you will be liable for shipping charges to and from Clear Sky LEDs. If the estimate is refused, the product will be returned at your cost.
If the product(s) is returned after the expiration of the warranty period, Clear Sky LEDs’ normal service policies shall apply and you will be supplied with a written estimate of the repair or replacement costs plus return shipping charges.
Factors that will Void Your Warranty
Opening of the LED Floodlight and / or Removing the Power Cable of LED Floodlights
All supplied LED Floodlights are at least IP65 rated and have been factory sealed against weather elements including wind, rain and dust. This ensures that the LED Floodlights can be used in any outdoor area under normal use that is not submerged in water. Do not open the LED Floodlights to attempt fixing a faulty unit yourself. If LED Floodlights are returned and it is detected that the IP65 seal has been damaged due to the LED Floodlight being opened – at the back and / or on the power cable – for whatever reason, the warranty will be void. There is NO reason whatsoever to open the LED Floodlight units as the power cables supplied on all LED floodlights can easily be extended when necessary.
Each LED Floodlight comes with a power cable and plug. Every power cable has been factory IP65 sealed making it 100% weatherproof. Removing the power cord completely results in destroying the integrity of the IP65 seal as it again requires the opening of the floodlight unit, and thus voids the warranty. Returning LED Floodlights without the power cables also voids the warranty. There is no need to remove the power cable. Should you wish to extend the existing power cable, attach a power cable extension that allows for waterproof protection – available at any electrical outlet shop.
Modifying Your Lights
If any modifications are made such as for example drilling holes in the framework, removing the glass, applying an extra flange to a power board etc, the warranty will be void. No modifications to your supplied lights are required for them to operate optimally.
Electrical Surge Damage
The warranty does not cover for electrical surges where Surge Protection devices are not installed. In South Africa, surges are common place, so proof of surge protection device installation will be required if the fault of the unit(s) returned are tested and the test report indicates power surge damage to one or more components. In this case, replacements will only be considered once a Surge Protection Safety Certificate – required by all installers of such devices – is presented to Clear Sky LEDs.
Lightning Strike Damage
Lighting strikes, like Electrical Surges, can result in the total destruction of your lights and / or similar damage caused by Electrical Surges. It is advisable, that one have the necessary earthing, lightning rods, surge protection units and/or other devices to protect your electromagnetic equipment such as your new LED Floodlights. Should your lights be damaged by Lightning, the warranty will be void.
Not Covered under Warranty
This warranty only covers normal use in an intended environment. This warranty does not cover any user-installed peripheral devices, dealer or user-installed pc boards or any other components. Use of a power supply other than that provided, connection of product to any other power source other than what is specified and connecting the unit to any electrical outlet not properly grounded.
This warranty does not cover the failure of the product due to inadequate maintenance, misuse of the product, improper installation, improper return shipping or general neglect. This warranty does not cover disasters such as fire, flood, lightning, hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes or any other natural disasters. Any servicing of the product by the owner or an unauthorised technician is not covered by this warranty.
The warranty does not cover for electrical surges where Surge Protection devices are not installed. Proof of surge protection devices will be required if the fault is due to that reason.
The warranty and remedies expressed above are exclusive and in lieu of all other express or implied warranties including, but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
Some laws do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties. If these laws apply, then all express and implied warranties are limited to the one year period expressed above. Any statement or representations made by any person, company or firm are void, unless stated above. Clear Sky LEDs will not be responsible or liable for any loss, inconvenience or damage including direct, special, incidental or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use their products, whether resulting from breach of warranty or any other legal theory or opinion.
All prices published on the Clear Sky LEDs website have 14% VAT already included - 100% in line with South Africa's Consumer Protection Act (CPA).
